The News Minute | February 17, 2015 | 02.20 pm ISTPerumal Murugan has finally left his hometown after almost 15 years in service as a teacher. The author who was in the centre of a controversy between the right to freedom of expression and protests against his depiction of free consensual sex in his hometown in his novel , has left the Arignar Anna Government Arts College where he worked for 14 years, reported New Indian Express. Both husband and wife, who had applied for a transfer after the protests following over his book ‘Madhorubhagan’ in which he had depicted a traditional custom which was said to be in practice years ago.He is expected to join the Tamil department in Presidency College, while his wife will join the Arts department in Queen Mary’s college, said the report.
