Overcrowded school bus carrying 120 students topples; atleast 30 injured in Tamil Nadu

(Image for representation)A school bus carrying 120 students overturned at Perambalur, leaving atleast 50 students injured. The students belonging to Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Higher Secondary School toppled at Perambalur on Thursday morning when heading towards school. According to bystanders, the bus had been overloaded and did not have any emergency facilities to help the students, reported Puthiya Thalamurai. Injured students have been admitted in a nearby hospital. The case is being investigated and the school bus driver has been arrested. The incident has occured on the same day that 94 children belonging to the Sri Krishna High School in Kumbakonam lost their lives in a gruesome fire ten years ago.
