The News Minute | March 3, 2015 | 09.40 am ISTAfter receiving a call that a cow in labour pains for the last few hours would not be able to deliver her calf without help, People for Cattle in India (PFCI) volunteers reached the spot in Chennai , reported Times of India. The volunteers found that the cow had suffered a uterus prolapse ( where in the uterus comes out along with the new born). The Chennai Corporation and the animal husbandry department had no resources to handle this sort of emergency, said Arun Prasanna of PFCI according to the report. Since there was no option to take the cow to a hospital for the energy , veterinarian Dr. MS Muralidharan was contacted. Both the cow and the new born are now in PFCI's centre.
