One more terror suspect arrested in TN by NIA, taken to Kerala for further investigation

Following the arrest of six people in Kerala on Sunday by the NIA, one more person has been arrested from Kadayanallur in Tirunelveli district on Monday and is suspected to have been part of a criminal conspiracy to commit terrorist acts in South India.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Subughani, (24), a native of Thodupuzha in Kerala arrested on Monday morning. Reportedly, NIA got information about Subughani from the six people they arrested on Sunday.

NIA has taken Subughani to Ernakulam for further investigation.

On Sunday, NIA had arrested six people, five hailing from Kerala and one from Coimbatore. They stated in a press release, “During searches conducted on Sunday in the districts of Kozhikode and Kannur in Kerala, six persons, have been arrested for their involvement in the conspiracy. Five of them were arrested while they were conducting a meeting at Kanakamala hilltop, Kannur District, Kerala. During subsequent searches, another person was detained from Kuttiyadu in Kozhikode district.”

They had also seized incriminating material including electronic devices after search of the premises.
