No holiday for schools and colleges; Madras HC warns TN government

The News Minute| October 7, 2014| 8.30 am ISTThe Madras High Court has directed all schools and colleges to function as usual, after a directive was issued to educational institutions declaring a holiday on October 7 in support of leader J Jayalalithaa. The special bench also said that the state government would be held responsible if any ‘untoward incident’ occurred, said The Times of India. The warning was given after four PILs were filed opposing the closure of schools and colleges on October 7 in solidarity with the AIADMK leader.
