Nadigar Sangam heats up again, Sarathkumar and Radharavi temporarily suspended

Former office-bearers of the South Indian Film Artistes’ Association, or the Nadigar Sangam, R. Sarathkumar, Radharavi and Vaagai Chandrasekar have been suspended temporarily over corruption allegations against them. 

The new administration audited the books of accounts of the Nadigar Sangam pertaining to the tenure of the previous office-bearers in which they have traced mishandling of funds to the tune of Rs 1.65 crore. A show-cause notice was also issued to them seeking their explanation.

A police complaint has been filed and an FIR was registered against the suspended members and a others for alleged mishandling Nadigar Sangam funds.

A resolution to this effect was also passed in the Executive Committee meeting held on Sunday. The Executive Committee meeting was attended by 18 committee members and the decision to suspend the three members was taken collectively, according to reports.

Recently, a section of Nadigar Sangam members raised an allegation against General Secretary Actor Vishal stating that he had cheated and misused Nadigar Sangam money to the tune of more than Rs. 3 crore.

Nadigar Sangam also declared that it will stand by the Tamil Nadu Government in the Cauvery issue and thanked chief minister J Jayalalithaa for her effort in bringing water to save farmers.
