Muslim party files complaint against Hindu Makkal Katchi chief for allegedly possessing AK 47

Indian National League Party (INLP) President Tada Adbul Rahim on Monday filed a complaint against Hindu Makkal Katchi President Arjun Sampath for allegedly possessing weapons. The complaint came a day after Sampath had posted a picture on his Facebook page, where he was seen sitting on the ground surrounded by arms, which had been kept as a blessing on the occasion of Ayudha Puja.

Speaking to The News Minute, Rahim said, “We have filed a complaint against Arjun Sampath for possessing weapons. He has AK-47 and SLR guns which are not allowed to be owned in India.”

He added that the Police Commissioner has promised to take action against Arjun Sampath in this case.

Sampath, however, states that the complaint has been filed to create a controversy. “In Tamil culture, Ayudha puja is celebrated and all the arms are kept for prayers. In that, few of my swords and my son’s air gun was kept.” The Hindu Makkal Katchi President explained that his son is a part of the rifle club and possesses air guns which do not require a license.

He added that there is no truth to the complaint.
