Man held in Kilakarai for posting "offensive" comments against RSS

The News Minute | June 26, 2014 | 5.31 pm ISTOne person has been held in Kilakarai, Ramanathapuram district, for allegedly posting comments offensive to religious sentiments against the RSS.A report published in The Hindu states that I. Mohammed Aslam was arrested under Sections 295A (malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs ) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 66A of the Information Technology Act for posting comments on Facebook. The report said that Aslam had said that the activities of the RSS were on the rise in the district and that its volunteers were attempting to convert Muslim women. He also warned against using a van run by one Munithurai, on the basis of whose complaint, the police made the arrest.
