Lawyers in Chennai eat beef to protest against beef ban

The News Minute| March 6 2015| 3.30 pm ISTThe Maharashtra government has banned beef, though there is no such ban in Tamil Nadu, some lawyers at the Madras High Court decided to show their solidarity by eating beef.A protest was organised at the court campus by some lawyers and they had two points to make.One, they were against the Mahrashtra ban.Second, they wanted to send across a message clearly to the Tamil Nadu government that such a ban would not be welcome in the state.
