Karunanidhi is angry: More at the judge than at Jayalalithaa

Written by : TNM

Hours after former chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa was acquitted by the Karnataka High Court in the disproportionate assets case, DMK party leader Karunanidhi took to Facebook to express his disgruntlement about the same. Condemning the court’s failure to function, Karunanidhi in an elaborate Facebook post spoke of the court's need to uphold its integrity. He mentioned how the judge had all the evidence required to convict her, but failed to act on the same. "Two hundred and fifty nine prosecution witnesses have given statements, 2341 documents prove that a complaint was actually filed and confirmed whereas only 99 witnesses and 385 documents have been filed on the part of criminals," he wrote. He also argued that the incriminating evidence so far does not show the whole picture but only shows 30-35 percent of what happened.Judge Kumaraswamy said "If the pass mark is 35 in school, then the court case against the purchase is more likely to be bought." Karunanidhi wrote that Jayalalithaa currently obtained 100/100 marks. He asked Kumaraswamy how and where this happened.Read the entire post here.
