The News Minute | October 24, 2014 | 4.00 pm ISTIf anybody had any doubts at all, about who would head the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu after chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s conviction, the party has now made it very clear. It is J Jayalalithaa. It has been raining heavily in Chennai these last few days and the Chennai Corporation issued a circular on the measures that are being taken to mitigate the effects of the rain.So here is what a recent press release by the corporation said: “Under the advice of 'People's CM' J Jayalalithaa Mayor Saidai Duraisamy and Commissioner Vikram Kapur have been working for the welfare of the people"DMK leader T K S Elangovan has condemned the development, and told the channel News X that calling Jayalalithaa 'People's CM' was “unacceptable”. Jaya TV has been calling Jayalalithaa People's CM for quite sometime, and all the time after she was convicted. The official chief minister, O Paneersevlam, has not been mentioned anywhere in the circular. Before he became chief minister, it was the chief minister’s name which would be mentioned in all the press releases issued by the government. Now, however, he has been replaced by the People’s Chief Minister. So that settles the matter.
