A portion of Anna Salai, an arterial road in the very heart of Chennai literally came crashing down on Sunday. The road cave-in saw the state-run Metropolitan Transport Corportaion (MTC) bus and a car getting trapped into the giant crater that had formed suddenly.

The road cave-in was blamed on the tunnelling work being carried out by the Chennai Metro Rail. While officials on the ground are carrying out an inquiry on the cause of the accident, meme-makers were quick to suggest a few likely causes.
