Engineering student uses taser to rob old woman

The News Minute| October 1, 2014| 7.30 am ISTA Chennai engineering student has been held for using a taser while robbing an old woman off her jewels.The student approached the lady, V Lalitha, aged 74, who runs a grocery store under the pretense of buying items. But he used the device on her while he removed her earrings, reported The New Indian Express. Even though she could not move, the lady screamed for help which was heard by nearby locals who caught him.  Two tasers of 3,800K volt were found on him, which were bought from an online shopping site, said police according to the report. A device that causes temporary immobility, the student has told the police that the robbery was done to help pay his college fees, said the report.
