DMK forms four-member team led by Stalin to hold seat-sharing discussions

Written by : PTI

DMK on Saturday announced a four-member team led by party Treasurer M K Stalin which would hold seat-sharing discussions with alliance parties for the May 16 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Besides Stalin, senior leaders and former ministers Durai Murugan and I Periasamy and Organisation Secretary R S Bharathy were named in the panel by the party high command, a statement released by the party said.

DMK's allies include Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League.

The party has been facing continuous losses since the 2011 assembly elections, all at the hands of archrival AIADMK.

It had also drawn a blank in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

DMK chief M Karunanidhi's efforts to rope in Vijayakant's DMDK have failed as the actor-politician announced that his party will go it alone in the polls.
