Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J.Jayalalithaa released a statement on Thursday after early trends showed AIADMK to emerge victorious and form the government after the state assembly elections.

In the statement, she conveyed her “heartfelt thanks” to the people of Tamil Nadu and credited the victory of AIADMK to the people of Tamil Nadu. She termed this victory as the victory for democracy and promised that she will work day-and-night for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu.

“The people of Tamil Nadu have put a full-stop to family-rule. They have crushed all those who asked for votes as a family. They have given a deserving treatment for all those parties who believed in opinion polls and did not place their belief in the people of Tamil Nadu,” said the Chief Minister in her statement.

She added that she is indebted to the people of Tamil Nadu and that she will fulfill every promise made in AIADMK’s election manifesto. She has also promised that she will continue to work “tirelessly for Tamil Nadu to be a leading state in India".
