The Income tax department has filed a complaint with the Chennai city police stating that AIADMK leader Thalavai S Sundaram took a notebook from state health minister C Vijayabaskar's house during the raids on April 7 and handed it over to another party worker, who later disposed it off, according to Times of India.

According to the report, RSVP Pawankumar, Principal Director (Investigations), Income Tax department, said in his complaint that the notebook may have contained crucial information regarding the raid. The complainant said that Sundaram sneaked out a notebook and handed it over to Vijayabaskar’s driver, who later allegedly disposed it off.

Earlier, TNM reported that the Chennai city police had registered a case against three Tamil Nadu Ministers and a Delhi Special representative following a complaint from the I-T Department.

The complaint was in regard to 'violence' exhibited against I-T officials when raids were conducted in the residence of Vijayabaskar.

An FIR was filed against Ministers Kadambur Raja, Udumalai Radhakrishnan, Kamaraj and Special representative Thalaivai Sundaram. The leaders have been booked under sections 183, 186, 189 and 448 of the Companies Act. They have been accused of resisting the taking of property by lawful authority of a public servant, and of criminal intimidation.

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on the government to sack the Health Minister, and it’s not just from the Opposition led by the DMK. Speculation is rife that AIADMK Deputy General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran is under pressure to drop Vijayabaskar following the IT raids at his official Greenways Road residence in Chennai as well as in properties belonging to his relatives across the state. Read the full story here.
