Police are investigating the crime.

Several parts of Coimbatore have been seeing violence, with Hindu Munnai leaders issuing dire threats following the murder of Sasikumar.

During the violence, the mobile phone shop in Tutiyalur was looted and ransacked on Friday night.

The shop-owner has lodged a complaint, but the police have withheld the name of the shop-owner for security reasons.

It is being alleged by members of the Muslim community that the violence is targeted at Muslim businesses, and that the mobile phone shop was looted by Hindu groups, but the police are still investigating the matter.
