Chennai school teacher fined Rs 50,000 for pinching student's cheeks

The News Minute | October 30, 2014 | 01:44 pm IST A teacher in Chennai school has been fined Rs 50,000 for pinching a student’s cheeks, states a report by The Times of India. In 2012, the woman teacher was accused of pinching the cheeks of a student as a measure to punish him. The boy’s mother approached the state human rights commission which in 2013 asked the teacher to pay a fine of Rs 1000 on the grounds of human rights violation of the boy. The student’s mother later approached the high court as she was not satisfied with the compensation.
