Police said that Abhishek had rented both the portions in the second floor for the past one year, which is part of the terrace. This floor was being used as an accommodation for his employees working at Candle Light Music Studios. He had rented the house from his aunt, choreographer Lalitha Mani.

Earlier, the neighbours had complained of ganja smoke which went inside the buildings through the outdoor unit of AC fitted on the terrace. But, they were shocked to know that he grew ganja plants on the terrace.
