Chennai HCL employee kidnapped and released, five men arrested

An HCL employee from Chennai was abducted by five men outside his office in Kelambakkam on Thursday evening. Later, the five men were arrested by the Kelambakkam police when they tried to collect a ransom of Rs. 10 lakhs.

Prem Kumar, the HCL employee was leaving the office on Thursday evening when he was kidnapped by five men. He hails from Andhra Pradesh. Prem Kumar’s parents are working abroad.

Prem Kumar contacted his friend Sandeep. His friend informed the Thalambur police and decided to meet the kidnappers late on Thursday night at the Kovalam beach.

The Kelambakkam police also reached the spot and the five men were arrested. The five men are Parthiban and Jayaselan from Thalambur, Praveen and Balaji from Kelambakkam and Vivek Raj from Arakkonam. The police are further investigating the case.
