The News Minute | January 22, 2015 | 08.00 am ISTThree arrests including Dayanidhi Maran’s personal secretary have been made by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday in relation to the telephone exchange scam.Sun TV’s Chief Technical Officer S Kannan, KS Ravi, an electrician at Sun TV’s office as well as V Gowthaman, Dayandhi Maran’s then additional Private Secretary have been arrested by the CBI in relation to the illegal telephone exchange scam. The arrests come after the revelation about a telephone exchange scam where illegal phone lines were sourced from Maran’s residence to the Sun TV office in Chennai. It was then alleged that he had used 300 government-owned phone lines for Sun TV.A case had then been filed against Dayanidhi Maran saying that hundreds of high-speed telephone lines allotted to his residence were actually routed to SUN TV’s office.The CBI began its enquiry in the issue in 2011 and registered a case against Dayanidhi Maran.TweetFollow @thenewsminute
