Case booked against Tamil writer after protests against plot

The News Minute | March 1, 2015 | 09.40 am ISTA case has been registered against Puliyur Murugesan, the Tamil writer recently assaulted over his short story after its contents raised protests in Karur .Murugesan, had been earlier physically attacked by people who entered his house and attacked him over the contents of his book, of which one of the short stories represented an incest plot. However, a case has been registered against the author under five IPC sections which included 292(writing book with obscene content), Section 153 (wantonly provocating riot), Section 502 (sale of book containing defamatory matter), 504( intentional provocation of breach of peace) and 505(causing fear or alarm to public), reported New Indian Express.The police has also rejected an appeal by the writer to shift him to the Thanjavur Government Hospital expecting more trouble, said the report.
