The News Minute| November 28, 2014| 08.30 am ISTCalling for censorship in films over religious and communal sentiments being hurt will be tantamount to blackmail ,said the Madras High Court on Thursday.The observation was made regarding the controversy over Vijay-starrer Kaththi, for which Justice V.Ramasubramanian directed police to provide protection to Lyca productions, the producer of the movie to allow its name to be exhibited, reported The Hindu.Just days before its release, a demand was made to remove Lyca from the movie during its release, over the alleged connections its producers had with Sri Lankan President Mahinde Rajapaksa.
