A customer from Tamil Nadu who had placed an order for a laptop via e-commerce website Naaptol was in for a shock as he was delivered a brick instead of the actual product on Wednesday.

Balachandar (17) of Periyamudaliayrchavady village near Kotakuppam in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu ordered a laptop worth Rs 14,090 using the cash-on-delivery option through e-retailer Naaptol on December 22.

When the product arrived on Wednesday, the customer found to his dismay after opening the package that he had been delivered a brick instead of the laptop.

Balachander registered a complaint with the website by calling the toll-free helpline.

He later lodged a complaint against the company with the Kottakuppam police who contacted the courier company to get details of the incident.

The courier company said that the package might have got changed in transit and declined to accept any responsibility for the incident.

However, Naaptol sent its representatives on Thursday and paid the amount back to Balachander.
