Another DMDK leader joins DMK, says ‘trend will continue’

Written by : TNM Staff

Two days after the party’s North Chennai District Secretary left the party to join DMK, DMDK’s Kanyakumari district Secretary, Advocate S Dinesh on Friday followed suit.

"DMDK cadres and district secretaries wanted the party to join DMK alliance but captain went against all our wishes and joined PWF. DMDK and PWF are acting like AIADMK's B team. DMDK so far collected Rs 100 crore for election expenses from district secretaries. Some district secretaries have mortgaged their houses to give their share," Dinesh said.

“This trend will continue. Wait and see,” he added.

This comes after DMDK leader Premalatha on Wednesday hit out at DMK Treasurer M K Stalin, asking him "not to do cheap politics by luring DMDK partymen" to his party fold.

Referring to Yuvaraj, North Chennai DMDK secretary, joining DMK, she said, "Stalin is doing cheap politics by luring" DMDK partymen.

These defections come just a week after the March 23 announcement by Vijayakanth of an alliance with the Vaiko-led PWF alliance, after many twists and turns over the past few weeks.

The actor-turned-politician had held talks with the BJP and DMK extensively, before finally forging an alliance with the PWF and was chosen as the chief ministerial candidate.
