Alagiri meets Karunanidhi, Stalin says don't politicise the meeting

Written by : TNM

DMK chief Karunanidhi's estranged son and former party leader MK Alagiri created a flutter in Tamil Nadu's political circles after landing at Karunanidhi's Gopalapuram residence in Chennai. Alagiri had a meeting with his father that set tongues wagging on whether he would be brought back to the DMK.

The meeting comes a day after DMDK chief Vijayakanth announced his decision to contest the polls along with the People's Welfare Front,  a decision that has come as a huge blow for the DMK.

Alagiri's brother and nemesis within the party MK Stalin was however quick to dismiss the meeting as just a pesonal one. "Ghulam Nabi Azad  is coming to Chennai tomorrow to meet our leaders and the details of the alliance will be finalised soon. Alagiri met Karunanidhi today , it was just to meet his parents and don't politicise it," he told the media.

Not just Stalin, even Alagiri's family is maintaining that it was just a meeting between a father and son. Alagiri's son tweeted:
