Written by : TNM Staff

Actor Akshay Kumar, for the second time in his career, will slip into the shoes of a character originally played by Tamil actor Vijay. After reprising Vijay’s role in the Hindi remake of Thuppakki, Akshay is set to start shooting for the remake of Kaththi from August onwards.

The remake will be directed by A.R Murugadoss, who had helmed the original, and it’s titled Ikka. The project will mark the second time collaboration of Akshay and Murugadoss after Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty.

Akshay, who is currently busy shooting for superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0, in which he plays the villain, is expected to wrap up his portion in the next two months and take a brief break before he joins for the shoot of Ikka, which will be produced by Lyca Productions. Ikka, in all probability, will hit the screens early next year.

Meanwhile, Murugadoss is busy finalizing the rest of the cast and crew for Ikka, including the leading lady. The rumour has it; Parineeti Chopra may team up with Akshay in this action-drama, which will feature the latter in dual roles.
