The News Minute| January 1, 2015| 10.00 am ISTFamily members of B Bhavani, the woman who was killed in the Bengaluru blast told the media in Chennai that they felt neglected by the Tamil Nadu government. The family says that while the Karnataka Chief Minister, Home Minister and five other ministers had met them in Bengaluru and consoled them, not a single representative of the Tamil Nadu government has met them. The Karnataka government has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakhs for Bhavani's kin, but no such gesture has come from the Tamil Nadu government."We thought the Tamil Nadu government will send a representative to pay homage to Bhavani. She did not die in a road accident or a natural calamity. It was a terror strike, an attack on the nation. Still no one from the government bothered,“ said Bhavani's nephew Murugesan.Ironically, the AIADMK had announced Rs 3 lakh cash relief to the families of 193 people who according to the party had committed suicide on hearing of then Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s conviction in a Rs. 66-crore disproportionate assets case. That's not all. The party also announced a payment of Rs. 50,000 to the three who tried to commit suicide. TweetFollow @thenewsminute
