Actor and President of All Indian Samathuva Makkal Katchi, Sarathkumar, condemned superstar Rajinikanth for calling the current political scenario in Tamil Nadu as “unusual” during a speech at an event in Chennai on Saturday.

Speaking at the 47th anniversary of the Tamil magazine 'Thuglak', Rajinikanth had said, “When we see untoward... unusual political happenings, I wonder how it would be if Cho were here. I feel really sad,” reported The Times of India

He was condoling the recent death of Thuglak editor Cho Ramaswamy.

He said that Rajinikanth is not qualified to speak about Tamil Nadu politics and asked Rajinikanth to clarify about the “unusual” situation that he mentioned. He also said that if Rajinikanth ever enters politics, he will be the first one to oppose it.

Sarthkumar had contested the assembly elections from the Tiruchendur constituency under AIADMK’s symbol but lost to a DMK candidate.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the event commemorating Cho, through teleconferencing.

In December, actor Anandraj had left AIADMK party after the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

He had said that after her death, he did not find a need for himself in the party as he could not picture anybody else as CM other than her.
