Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Monday announced that it will continue their alliance with DMK for the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

Khader Mohideen, state president of Indian Union Muslim League met DMK Supremo  Karunanidhi in Gopalapuram on Monday after which Mohideen confirmed their alliance for the upcoming elections.

For the 2011 elections, IUML was part of the DMK alliance but failed to register even a single seat.

This comes after last week the Congress also announced that they will join the DMK-led alliance in order to counter the ruling-AIADMK.

The DMK led alliance in 2011 could only manage 31 seats out of the total 234 seats.
