11-year-old boy allegedly rapes 7-year-old in Coimbatore

Police arrested a 11-year-old boy for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl in Coimbatore on Thursday.

Both the girl and boy hail from Bihar. The girl was working in a tiles company in Kamatchipuram and the boy was the victim’s neighbour, according to The Times of India.

On Tuesday evening, when the girl’s parents were not at home, the boy took the girl to an isolated place and raped her. When the girl complained of severe pain, her parents took her to a hospital.

The girl was admitted to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital on Thursday and then her parents filed a complaint to All Woman’s police station.

A case has been filed under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

Deputy Commissioner of police S Lakshmi told The Times of India that when the girl’s father went to take a bath, the boy took the girl to an isolated place and raped her.

The boy was arrested and sent to a juvenile home at Lakshmi Mills Junction.
