Watch: Taher Shah's new poetic performance features a message of love... and a cat

Written by : TNM Staff

Pakistani artist Taher Shah was recently in the news for having left Pakistan after receiving death threats. But if you believed that was the end of his eccentric musical creations, you were wrong.

Because on New Year's Eve, Taher Shah dropped another video called Humanity Love

The video features Taher Shah sitting in a throne-like chair, with a white cat purring in his lap. He also seems to have swapped his flowing locks for a bun as he delivers a message of love in a part-shayari part-poetry performance.

Watch the video here:

Taher Shah begins by saying that love is his faith and his identity. Then, he goes on to compare love to an angel and how true love resides in one's eyes - references perhaps to his previous 'songs' Angel and Eye to Eye? Hmmm.

The second part of the shayari (if you want to call it one) appears to urge people to let go of their fears and express their true love.

Shah continues to recite the poem to an eerie music playing in the background while occasionally petting the cat. And while the song is titled Humanity Love, the ambience appears to be more creepy than romantic.

While you try to figure out what Shah hopes to achieve with yet another cryptic music(?) video, we can only wonder if this is a prelude to what he's going to offer us this year.
