Video: News18 boss Ambani says on NDTV that he likes Times Now’s Arnab

Knowing how most TV journalists confuse the TV universe for the real one, there is little doubt that one of the most influential men in India divulging who he likes on Indian English news would grab their attention like little else.

So when a former TV journalist asked Mukesh Ambani who he watched at 9pm ever night, he had every eye in the room on him.

He didn’t give it too much though, his answer was, “I watch Arnab, and I liked him quite a bit.”

Boom.

But here is what makes that even more fun. Mukesh Ambani has controlling stake in News18. The question was asked as part of an interview called "Off The Cuff" by journalist Shekhar Gupta for his digital venture, "The Print". The interview was aired live on NDTV.

And shall we make it more confusing for you?

The question was asked by TV editor Mahrukh Inayet, whose last stint was as news editor was with India Today. Her earlier (and longer) stint was with Times Now.

So, the man who owns controlling stake in News18 said on NDTV that he likes Times Now’s Arnab Goswami the most in prime time TV news.

On the other hand, like many have pointed out, kudos to NDTV for airing this a few times.
