My friends call me Aliya, croons a 'Mallu' in this funky music video

Written by : TNM Staff

As Bengalurean ‘Mallu’ Rinosh George tells us right at the beginning of his latest music offering “I’m a MALLU”, this one is for all the Malayali boys and girls all around the world.

A funky likeable music video, the artist prefers to describe it as one belonging to the Tapang Rap genre, which could well be a modern day combo of ‘Dappaankuthu’ and Rap.

And as Mallus love to believe, Rinosh brags, “We are ‘simbly’ awesome, machaa!”

In collaboration with Pepper Media, the video sees Rinoj capture the inherent Malayali swagger and innate appetite for fish, ‘parotta’, beef, Mohan Lal, Popy kuda and liquor to name a few.

Of course, the thick Mallu accent does get a mention, but Rinosh does not forget to brag about the likes of Shashi Tharoor, Vidya Balan , Manoj Night Shyamalan, Shobana and Arundhati Roy either.

He is also quick to clarify that coconut is not part of every dish made in Kerala and any idea of terming him a ‘Madarassi’ would ensure broken bones.

Neither does Rinosh fail to garner free publicity for his earlier musical ‘This is Bengaluru’ and goes on to identify himself as a Bengaluru guy who holds high the ‘Mallu’ torch.

Rinosh George is a Malayali music artist, actor, songwriter and composer and former DJ based in…you got it right…Bengaluru.
