‘Let the police do their job’, Jisha’s sister asks media to stop hounding her

Written by : TNM Staff

With no sign of a breakthrough even twelve days after the brutal murder of Jisha at Perumbavoor in Kerala, Jisha’s sister -Deepa- has made an emotional plea to the media to stop hounding her in this regard.

In a Youtube video released online, Deepa is seen trying to convince the visual media to stop jumping to conclusions and let the police do their job. This comes in the backdrop of several reports that were being aired on how Deepa was being questioned by the police in connection with the crime, insinuating that she was directly or indirectly linked with her sister’s death.

In the video, a host of mikes from various regional news channels can be seen jostling for a space as close to Deepa as possible. Trying to answer questions hurled at her as calmly as possible, Deepa says, “Who said the police are not doing their job? All these days they have been running around, trying to do just that. Will it be of any use to punish an innocent of the crime? The police are questioning many people. We don’t know who the culprit is. But whoever it is will be brought before the law. Why don’t you try and understand the troubles and difficulties faced by the police?”
