Kalaignar is 93-years-young, works like he is 39: Stalin's interview to TNM

Written by : Dhanya Rajendran

It's a question that has been posed to the DMK multiple times. Will Kalaignar Karunanidhi make way for his son MK Stalin and project him as chief ministerial candidate of the DMK?

Ninety three year old Karunanidhi has been chief minister of Tamil Nadu five times and speculation about when he would hand over the reins to his 63 year old son MK Stalin has been on for years.

When The News Minute asked MK Stalin whether it was wrong for young voters to expect a comparatively younger CM, he said that though the expectation was right, Kalaignar was DMK's CM candidate.

"It is justified that people have such an expectation. But Kalaignar is a 93 years old youngster, he works like a 39 year old. And when Kalaignar is there, there is no question of another CM candidate for the DMK."
