The 'Jimikki Kammal' video to top it all: Watch Mohanlal set the stage on fire

Written by : TNM Staff

If you thought you had seen every possible version of the Jimikki Kammal dance online, wait till you see superstar Mohanlal take the stage.

The massively viral number has come a full circle, as the original Velipadinte Pusthakam rounded off the innumerable spin-offs with a new rendition of their own, led by none other than Lalettan.

It all started on August 22, when the official Facebook page for Velipadinte Pusthakam introduced a Jimikki Dance Challenge, with the winners promised a chance to perform with the original Jimikki Kammal team.

With the challenge ending on September 19, the original team, including actors Arun Kurian and Sharath Kumar, got together for the promised final video.

The icing on the cake though, is Mohanlal walking into the studio dressed in a shirt and mundu, much to the surprised delight of the participants. In his inimitable style, Mohanlal tucks up his mundu before launching into the dance with gusto.

Posting the video on his official Facebook page, Mohanlal wrote:

"The song that has got everybody dancing have made me too to take a few steps . Here’s my version of #JimikkiKammal with the participants of dance challenge, and team Velipadinte Pusthakam."

Of course, there’s one significant absence from the final video – Sheril from the Indian School of Commerce. But even if she’s not in the video, you could hardly have a Jimikki Kammal video without someone bringing her up.

This time, it’s Sharath, who seems too intimidated to dance before Sheril. "Is Sheril here? Then I am not going to dance," complains Sharath, and only walks into the studio when Arun assures him that she isn’t there.

The team also released a number of other spin-off videos, which you can watch here:
