On International Tea Day, here’s the recipe for the perfect masala chai

Indians share a rather special relationship with tea – morning tea, evening tea, high tea, tea for headaches and hanging out… it makes the perfect beverage for all occasions. Hard to believe such an integral part of our daily lives was actually brought to our country by the British colonizers, isn’t it?

And guess what? There’s a day dedicated to it!

Yep, since 2005, December 15 has been celebrated as International Tea Day in tea producing countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Kenya… and India, of course!

So, here’s a little something to commemorate this day: Get up and give yourself a much-deserved break with this recipe for the classic masala chai.
