Cricketer Yusuf Pathan allegedly slapped a spectator for making "indecent comments" during a Ranji match between Baroda and Jammu and Kashmir in Vadodara. The young spectator was allegedly passing indecent remarks about Pathan and other players, which upset the sportsperson.

A PTI report quotes Snehal Parikh, the Baroda Cricket Association secretary, as saying, "This youngster had been shouting and passing indecent comments against Pathan and other players, such as Ambati Rayudu, when they were batting. Pathan was in no mood to tolerate such behaviour. Thus, after he got out, he called that youngster inside the dressing room and allegedly slapped him twice."

The situation was reportedly brought under control after Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan's younger brother, intervened. The matter is said to have been 'amicably resolved' after some member from the youth's family apologised, adds the report.

An India Today report states that the incident has been reported to the BCCI by match referee Prasantha Mohapatra and that Pathan could face face action according to the Indian cricket board's Level 2 or 3 offence.
