This is what Nestle, the parent company manufacturing the noodles said on Friday after having cleared tests conducted by three laboratories in the country as per directives of the Bombay High Court.

“We have received test results from all three laboratories mandated by the hon’ble Bombay high court to test Maggi Noodles samples. All the 90 samples, covering six variants, tested by these laboratories are clear with lead much below the permissible limits,” Nestlé said in a statement.

Nestle said it has conducted over 3500 tests on over 200 million packs in both nationally as well as internationally accredited laboratories of nine countries and all reports found Maggi Noodles manufactured in India safe for consumption. 

In a statement, the company said it would start manufacturing the noodles at the earliest, without mentioning any timeframe and would commence selling only after the newly manufactured products are also cleared by laboratory tests.

The company has also assured full cooperation with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the country’s top food regulator.

Earlier, in March 2014, a food inspector in UP had initiated tests after suspicion of high levels of lead and MSG in the noodles which later resulted in an almost pan-India ban on instant noodles.
