Yes, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram are down across the world

Written by : TNM Staff

Multiple users across the world have reported Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram — all three of which are owned by Facebook — are down. Either users couldn’t access the platform, or their feeds refused to refresh.

And as is the case with every outage, social media users flocked to Twitter to check if the platforms were truly down, or it was a problem with the internet connection. #WhatsAppDown, #InstagramDown and #FacebookDown were trending on Twitter worldwide.

Just last month, Facebook users worldwide reported problems logging into their accounts, sharing posts on its website and Instagram and not being able to refresh feeds or post new files using the social media giant's family of apps. It was one of Facebook’s worst outages as it lasted many hours, which the social media giant had acknowledged on Twitter. Last month, they had attributed it to a “server configuration change”.
