Sri Lanka’s Cultural Minister T. B. Ekanayake is a man devoted to his work or so it seems from pictures uploaded by the Foreign Correspondents' Association of Sri Lanka. The post says that during a ceremony attended by visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Mahinda Rajapakse on 16 September at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo, the minister tip-toed to sign an agreement.

He tip toed not out of reverence or fear, but the soles of both his shoes seem to have torn off. The post says that 'even the usual cobblers seen on Colombo streets had been moved away to make way for VVIP convoys and perhaps the bilateral agreement may contain something about the art of making reliable shoes'.

One comment on the post slyly says, 'Must be Chinese shoes'.
