Fresh from her success at the Olympics where she became the country’s first ever woman silver medallist, Pusarla Venkata Sindhu now has more reason to cheer.

According to a report by Manne Ratnakari in The Times of India, the shuttler has bagged a three-year deal that could be worth up to Rs 50 crore, with sports management company Baseline, which makes it the biggest deal for any non-cricket player.

Tuhin Mishra, managing director and co-founder of Baseline, told TOI, "Her soaring popularity has attracted the attention of so many companies. In the next three years, we will work to maximise her value. Even after achieving stupendous success, her humility and the value she brings to women power is remarkable."

Sindhu’s brand profiling, licensing and endorsements will be managed by Baseline. Sindhu is said to be in the final stages of signing up with nine of the 16 companies that have come forward with endorsement offers.

"We have finalised deals with financial institutions, women-centric brands etc. At this stage I cannot disclose the complete details," Mishra added.

Following in her coach Pullela Gopichand’s footsteps, Sindhu will not endorse Cola or any other products which have an adverse impact on the youth.

"Another important aspect is that she will allocate very limited time for commercials. Her practice time will not be affected," Mishra said.
