The News Minute| December 18, 2014| 3.53 pm IST“What happened in Bhubaneswar was a conspiracy against our team, a clear case of victimisation where an apology was forced upon us which I submitted in the interest of Pakistan hockey,” said manager-cum-chief of Pakistan Hockey Team Shahnaz Shaikh on Wednesday, according to a report on Dawn.The Pakistani coach strongly defended the behaviour of Pakistani hockey players in their post-match celebrations and categorized the issue to be an attempt to victimize Pakistan players, said the report.According to the report, he also attributed the performance of players in the final to the whole episode where two of Pakistan’s hockey players Mohammad Tauseeq and Amjad Ali were suspended.The report goes on to say that he was given a tough time about the issue by the FIH and IHF who used pressure tactics to settle with an apology ahead of the final.The report goes on to include all the grievances he faced like lack of security while travelling from New Delhi to Amritsar and treatment received from Indian officials at the Attari Border.The report also says that Shahnaz called on other nations to unite against the overbearing attitude of India in world hockey and how Indians were trying to influence the game.Also read: Watch video: Pak hockey players make obscene gestures after nail-biting win over IndiaTweet
