Watch: Here are the security features of the new Rs 2000 note

As part of the demonetisation drive, the RBI is introducing new notes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. The reverse of the note has a motif of the Mangalayan – India’s first interplanetary mission to the moon. While the base colour of the note is magenta, the size of the new note is 66mm x 166mm.

Some of the other features are:

See through – register with denominational numeral 2000 can be seen when the note is held against light.

Latent image – with denominational numeral 2000 which can be seen when the banknote is held at 45 degree angle at the eye level.

Micro lettering -  Micro letters ‘RBI’ and ‘2000’ on the left side of the banknote.   

Governor’s signature – Guarantee Clause, Promise Clause and RBI emblem along with Governor’s signature.
