Vijay's Puli producers in trouble as Sridevi files case

Written by : TNM Staff

Indian actor Sridevi, who made a comeback to Tamil cinema after about 3 decades with Vijay's Puli, has filed a case against the film’s producers, as they have not given her the complete payment.

DNA reported that the actress filed a complaint against PT Selvakumar and Shibu Themeens at the Mumbai Producer’s Council, which in turn has been transferred to the Tamil Nadu Film Producer’s Council.

Shibu Thameens, who is in hospital for surgery, tweeted that he would clarify the issue with the actress.

According to the report, the producers owe Sridevi Rs 50 lakh for the film. There were rumours that the actress was offered Rs 5 crore for the role of an evil queen in the film, which released in October, after several controversies.

The Income Tax department raided houses of Puli’s producers and actor Vijay, a day before the release of the film. Possible reasons for the delay in payment to Sridevi include producers’ bank accounts being frozen and their financial dealings being suspended.
