Industrialist Vijay Mallya’s Twitter account appears to be hacked by an outfit which identifies as "Legion".

Late Thursday night, Mallya tweeted that his email and Twitter account had been hacked by Legion and to ignore the tweets being posted from his account.

On Friday morning, the hackers began posting a series of tweets from Mallya's account, beginning with a screengrab of all his purported email IDs and their passwords and a link to his "bank accounts, assets, passports, offshore investments".

Mallya's purported address and personal phone number were also posted on his Twitter account.

The hackers also mentioned that this episode merely reveals a "partial dump" and that more information about Mallya would be leaked over the coming week.

This comes a few days after Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and the Congress' Twitter accounts were hacked and offensive tweets posted.

Mallya's purported address and personal phone number were also posted on his Twitter account.

The hackers also mentioned that this episode merely reveals a "partial dump" and that more information about Mallya would be leaked over the coming week.

Mallya is presently in the UK, evading arrest in India. Many Indian banks had declared him a wilfull defaulter for failing to pay more than Rs 9,000 crores in relation to the now defunct Kingfisher.
