Two-time Olympic medallist and Indian badminton player PV Sindhu has announced her marriage to Hyderabad-based businessman Venkata Datta Sai on December 22 in Rajasthan’s Udaipur. Venkata Datta Sai serves as an executive director at Posidex Technologies. His father, GT Venkateshwar Rao, is the Managing Director of the company.

Sindhu's father, PV Ramana, told PTI that both the families knew each other but the wedding was decided in November. “This was the only possible window due to her tight schedule. Both families agreed for the ceremony to be conducted on December 22. The reception will be held on December 24 and she will return to training soon after,” he added.

The announcement comes days after Sindhu ended her two-year title drought at Syed Modi International Grand Prix tournament in Lucknow. She defeated China’s Wu Luo Yu in the final.

Venkata Datta Sai holds a Diploma in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Foundation of Liberal and Management Education. He completed his BBA in Accounting and Finance from Flame University in 2018, and a Masters degree in Data Science and Machine Learning from International Institute of Information Technology in Bengaluru.
