IAS officer Ashok Khemka has been transferred for the 46th time in his 24 year old career. A transfer he termed ‘painful’, now a petition has been started urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reinstate Khemka back into the transport department. A petition on Change.org has surfaced, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give Khemka a better job or to reinstate him in the transport department. Started by Nitin Nagpal ,the petition goes on to talk about the numerous bureaucrats who are nearing retirement age and would be happy to spend the remainder of their time working for the Archaeology department. It also appealed to fellow Indians to sign the petition and help sign the few honest officers who remained in our country.Ashok Khemka was moved to the Archaeology and Museums Department from the post of Commissioner-Secretary to the Haryana Transport department by the BJP Government in the state on April 1, 2015. A transfer that he described as ‘painful’, it was followed by a meeting with the Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki. No further information was available about the nature of his meeting with him. However, such transfers are not new to Khemka. He is well known for taking a tough stance against corruption and this is where it has led him. Khemka first came into the limelight for questioning Robert Vadra’s land deals. However, when he was labelled a ‘whistleblower’ he took to Twitter to express his pain at being called so.
