A Telugu TV serial producer was arrested in Hyderabad on Wednesday after a complaint of alleged sexual harassment of a woman television artist.

The 32 year old woman lodged a complaint in the S R Nagar Police Station in the city where she alleged that small time producer Venkat Chalapathy had been forcing her to have a sexual relationship with him.

On being contacted Inspector G V Ramana told TNM that "We have booked him (Venkat) under IPC Section 354 (assaulting a woman to outrage her modesty) and arrested him. An investigation is still ongoing."

Reports also suggest that the victim had been complaining on the issue to the Borabanda Police Station from December last year but no action was taken.
